Pause
Last week Wade and I went for a long winter walk to just enjoy some sunshine and crisp air. It felt so good to walk and talk and hold hands – UNTIL I tripped on AIR and Wade caught me from a faceplant.
The result is a badly sprained ankle and bone fracture.
I am in an ankle boot, and I will be FINE, but I must admit that this new injury caused me to take pause.
Is there something I am supposed to learn, other than the obvious watch where I walk?
The last time I had an injury of this magnitude, was in November 2017. I was burning the candle at both ends with my job AND caring for Rosemary. My injury made me SLOW DOWN and take PAUSE.
The unhurried pace allowed me to SEE and ANALYZE my situation more clearly.
It was a few months later that I retired early to care for Rosemary full-time and the Blessing Bike evolved.
I guess I do tend to face life headfirst, and God needs to hit the pause button for me now and then.
I guess we will see what is around the corner this time.
Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead.
