Accentuate the Positive
As many of you have seen in our past videos, Rosemary LOVES to sing. Of all the songs in her repertoire, “Accentuate the Positive” has always been one of her favorites. This is a tune she has been singing for years to anyone who will listen. Since November, when the Blessing Bike was established, we have received numerous emails from people sharing their heartfelt, personal stories. A song I have heard sung from my mother’s gravelly voice, has a new meaning today.
Witnessing this ripple effect of the positivity from one bike, and the potential of it reaching to many others across the nation is an absolute BLESSING.
So today, I ask you to partake is Rosemary’s anthem. Can you choose to accentuate the positive?
You’ve got to accentuate the positive
Eliminate the negative
Latch on to the affirmative
Don’t mess with Mister In-Between
You’ve got to spread joy up to the maximum
Bring gloom down to the minimum
Have faith or pandemonium
Liable to walk upon the scene
To illustrate his last remark
Jonah in the whale, Noah in the ark
What did they do?
Just when everything looked so dark?
Man, they said we better, accentuate the positive
Eliminate the negative
Latch on to the affirmative
Don’t mess with Mister In-Between
No, don’t mess with Mister In-Between
Do you hear me?
Oh, listen to me children and a you will hear
About the eliminating’ of the negative
And the accent on the positive
And gather ‘round me children if you’re willing’
And sit tight while I start reviewing’
The attitude of doing’ right
You’ve got to accentuate the positive
Eliminate the negative
Latch on to the affirmative
Don’t mess with Mister-In-Between
You’ve got to spread joy to the maximum
Bring gloom, down to the minimum
Otherwise pandemonium
Liable to walk upon the scene
(Bing Crosby and the Andrew Sisters)
